Family Photos

Ever since Kingston was born we have been going to JC Penny to get our family photos taken. Honestly, they do a really good job and they are very inexpensive so for now we will keep going there. But if anyone has any good recomendations on photographers in town, I would love to hear about them. For now, these are some of the pictures we had taken. Kingston did such a good job and the photographer really knew how to make him laugh.

Vegas

Chez and I just flew back from Vegas today. We had soooooo much fun. It was probably our best trip yet. The first day we rented a Dodge Charger (which to us was pretty awesome). We ate out at IHOP (again, to us it was awesome. I love diner food thanks to Guy Fiery on the Food Network!) That night we decided to head to some casinos on the strip to spend a little money or rather to give away our money but all for entertainment purposes. Well.........instead of giving away our money, we racked up $800 dollars worth in two hours with luck. Chez hit about three 3 of a kinds at a game called Three Card Poker, and I hit a straight flush. With the money we won, we left and went to bed for the night and thought about how we would spend it. Of course, Chez and I bought ourselves some clothes at the enormous outlet mall then we bought show tickets to the Blue Man Group and the Tale of Kings. The Blue Man Group was a very strange show but we really liked the Tale of Kings. That was really fun and silly. We also met up with some friends and ate at a super delicious brunch buffet with crab, shrimp, sushi, and basically you name it. So, needless to say, we had a ball with the money we won. We had a little left over after that so we played a few more table games in the casino. We spent our mornings hanging out in tubes going around the lazy river at the resort and swimming. We had such a blast and I am a little sad to be home already. I am also really happy to be home with my little guy too. I missed him a ton. Grandma took excellent care of him and she really enjoyed the bonding time she had with him. Since Chez and I have been to Vegas numerous times, we just don't take pictures anymore. However, we did get a picture of one of the performers in the Blue Man Group. Hopefully that's good enough!

Off we go!!!

This will be my last post before mine and Chez's private getaway to Vegas. We are super excited to be going alone. It will be really good to spend some quality time together and have fun. Having children is amazing but sometimes parents get so wrapped up in their children, that the romance gets a little neglected. So, we are off! This is a picture of the resort we usually stay at. It is my absolute favorite. It's paradise.

Something sorta fun

I copied and pasted this from my friend Angie's site. It was kinda fun.

"Here is a fun little game I got from my friends blog! This is how it works: Leave a comment on our blog of a memory you and I [that could be Julie or Chez or both] have together. It doesn't matter if you've known us for a short time or a long time anything will work! Next, repost these instructions on your blog and see how many people [love you. I mean ...] leave a memory about you ... I hope you will play along and enjoy!"

Enlightening Summer

This summer has been full of craziness and fun. It has also gone by really fast. We have been on a few trips to Yellowstone, Washington, and Canada. Very soon, we are headed to Las Vegas again. We love it there. We have a babysitter for King so that we can enjoy some good quality alone time. Once we come back, my mom is coming to visit which will be awesome. She loves Kingston but she is sad she doesn't get to see him very often. I have also gained a lot of insight this summer. It's hard to sit back and watch people close in your life have family problems. I have seen A LOT of that this summer and it opened my eyes. I realized that I was portraying the classic "nagging wife" to Chez. One day I woke up and said, enough! While I didn't realize before how annoying I probably was, I knew I had to change. How completely unfair it was to a hard working and very loving husband to have to deal with a wife so irritating. Now, I was not always that way. Just on occassion. None the less, it's not appropriate. I opened up to Chez and told him how sorry I was for being that way (not sure he even realized it himself until I pointed it out. I think he grew used to it.) I am so happy that I snapped out of it. Watching the family problems around me really put my behavior into perspective. Chez deserves a happy and loving wife at all times and I am here to be that wife for him. Ever since the discovery of my old ways, I feel like a completely different woman. The more loving and thoughtful I am to my adoring husband, the more I see how happy he is and the more I feel complete gratitude and love for him. This is a wonderful feeling and I encourage any wife who may have some nagging tendancies, to step back and see how hard that could be on a marriage. Now, I know I may have made myself sound like I was a horrible woman, but I wasn't. I was only human and forgot how to treat my husband the way he deserves. He has flaws too, but I love him for all that he is and I KNOW he loves me. I am truly grateful for Chez and for the beautiful family he has given me and will continue to give me.
