What goes better with a big boy bed? A BIG BOY!

I have been on a blogging role. I mostly like it because it is a really good journal/scrapbook to have. Anyway, Kingston had his 2 year check up today and he is a big kid. He measured in the 97th Percentile for height and the 90th percentile for weight! Holy cow. How did such a big boy come from a small mommy like me?! I had been so worried about his eating lately because he is soooo picky and all I can ever get him to eat is Mac and Cheese. The doctor looked at me and said, if he only eats mac and cheese, then that is perfectly okay because he is a big strong boy. It makes a momma proud to hear that!

Opinions Please

I am starting to "nest" and am super cleaning everything and looking for baby girl supplies like bedding, car seat covers, and clothes. So far I have been blessed with a wonderful sister who has given me an entire box filled with brand new baby girl clothes ranging from newborn sizes to 9 months. She is awesome. So for now I am mostly looking for bedding and car seat covers. I posted the car seat covers earlier and these are the bedding sets I have my eye on.

Big Boy Bed

It is official. Kingston is sleeping in his big boy bed at night. We have had the new bunk bed for a few months now but I waited until we moved to take Kingston out of the crib. Now the crib is for the new baby and I can decorate it with cute pink bedding and Kingston has the freedom of a no more sides big boy bed! He has been sleeping so well in it too!

Happy Anniversary!

Today Chez and I have been married for 3 years! I cannot believe it has been that long. Since being married we have had a son, gone on many memorable trips, lost loved ones and friends, built a house, moved states, and now expecting our second child and first baby girl in June. The past couple weeks have been hectic and so we are planning on celebrating our anniversary in two weeks when my mom comes up. She is going to watch Kingston for a few days so we can go on a weekend getaway. We originally wanted to go to Vegas but we may just go to Wendover, Nevada or something simple like that.

I Still Remember the Day He Was Born As If It Were Yesterday!

Kingston celebrated his 2nd birthday a day early on Sunday since we were in Idaho Falls and a lot of our family is there. It was a simple little party. We had a Mickey Mouse cake but all of the decor was Cars. Kingston loves all Disney movies. The bummer was that we had left our camera in Utah so we are waiting on pictures that were taken by others. Kingston was more excited to play with the balloons and his cousins but he got some neat toys. Back for Christmas, we had gotten Kingston this really cool kitchen set but we never gave it to him since we found out we had to move to Utah. We decided to hold off and give it to him for his birthday instead. We also got him a singing tricycle but we are holding off opening the box to it because we really want to get him a big wheel but we are having a hard time finding one. He also got a bunch of sports things like a t-ball and baseball stuff which he loves. It was a fun little visit back home and a good birthday. I can't believe my little angel is 2!

Baby Girl Car Seat Covers

I thought I would look on ebay for car seat covers not even sure if there was a such thing. To my surprise, they had a lot to choose from. These are a couple that I like. It is a bit cheaper to get a cover rather than a whole new car seat (which I would never do). It is so strange looking for baby girl stuff rather than baby boy stuff. For the past two years my focus has been on boy clothes, decor, and bedding for Kingston. I got a package in the mail from my sister full of cute baby girl clothes, bows, and blankets and it felt so strange to me!

Update on the Move

We are finally moved into our house here in Utah. It is a beautiful house and I am happy to be able to rent out such a nice home. I was a little disappointed because the lady who lived here before did a really bad job at cleaning before she left and she had a cat. Needless to say, I have been choking on hairballs all week. It sucks to have to clean up after someone else but sometimes life isn't fair! The great thing though is the house is new with so many neat little upgrades that I can't really complain. Once I get it totally cleaned up and vacuumed, I will feel more at home. The view from our living room window is spectacular. The moutains are right there. At night it is majestic and in the morning, coming out to get breakfast is the best thing because the mountains are so pretty and our windows are floor to ceiling. So anyway, I will post pictures later once I am all settled in. We still have some business to take care of in Idaho with our properties there and we are also celebrating Kingston's 2nd birthday there this Sunday so that will be fun.

The Nerve of Some People!

Every Friday evening, Kingston and I go on a date. First we go swimming at the aquatic center and then we go to Dairy Queen for dinner. Today was a little different. When we got to Dairy Queen, it was packed so we went to Mc Donald's instead. BIG MISTAKE! Kingston was already starving by the time we got there so he was a little testy. While we were waiting for our food, he saw another tray with french fries on it but I said, "no not yet". He threw a fit. He doesn't normally do this but he was hungry and didn't understand why he couldn't have those fries. So, I took him outside quickly to let him cool off and an employee followed me out. She began to tell me what a misbehaved son I had and was retelling me everything she witnessed him do. Then she looked at him and started scolding him for being such a bad boy. WOW! I was in shock. All I could manage to get out of my mouth was, "Mam, kids throw fits". I really wanted to punch her in the face though. Of course I would never do that so instead I emailed Mc Donald's to let them know how extremely upset I was. The longer I am a mom, the more I get comments from women left and right telling me how I should mother my children. I guess for the most part it goes in one ear and out the other but this was the first time I couldn't let it go. The nerve of some people!

Utah Here We Come

Well the house has boxes stacked up against the walls and it is very bare inside. I still have a lot of cleaning and odds and ends to do. We load up the Uhaul on Sunday night and head off to our new lives on Monday. Well, Chez has lived there for the past 2 months, so I guess it is more of a new life for Kingston and I. We have already made a couple of friends there. I am really excited to meet new people but also really nervous at the same time. I have not moved since I moved from Washington to Idaho when I was in high school so this will be kind of scary. I remember the tremendous feeling of culture shock when I moved to Idaho. I went from cities all around me and a billion shopping malls, to complete, bare desert. At first I hated it but when I had the opportunity to move back to Washington a few years back, I had grown to love Idaho so much that I chose to stay and leave my family in Washington. I made such great friends, had a really fun job, and met the love of my life. So, from that experience I have learned that you can make good from anything and that is exactly what I will do when I move to Utah. I was able to find a wonderful new OBGYN there that I am pumped to see and we have a nice house to move into. Here we go....
