Disney World!

We leave for Orlando tomorrow! We are super excited. I am like a little speed deamon today. I have so much to do. We want our house looking specatular when we get home. Our new leather sectional and patio furniture are being delivered this afternoon, I am super cleaning the house, getting all the laundry done, and suit cases packed. Hopefully we will be able to come home to a clean, fresh house. In the meantime, bon voyage!

My Nightmare Coming True

Yesterday was not the ordinary day I thought it would be. Around noon my children and I heard rounds of gunfire go off. I ran to the window, saw two officers with their guns drawn and going off and i ran upstairs with the kids and hid in the master closet. I called Chez immediately to come home then my parents and my sister so that I could have them watch the news for me. I had no idea what was going on and I was terrified. The gun shots went off over and over and over for 3 hours. All I could do was keep calm to keep my kids from being scared. Kingston was such a brave boy. He played quietly with the toys that we thankfully had in our closet and Makenna nursed most of the time. She sensed something wasnt right. I called 911 twice. I heard helicopters over head. Chez was giving me updates over the phone because he was standing outside of the neighborhood with many other husbands who couldnt rescue their wives and children. I think Chez had it pretty bad. I just wanted to be with him but I knew it was impossible so I did all I could to stay calm. At times it was hard. I had no idea if there was a mad man on the loos shooting at random people. The officers were giving everyone false information and this I knew because I was in the middle of hearing everything. I finally snuck out to get the kids some snacks. I crawled down the stairs. I peeked out the window to see what was going on and the swat team was armed and standing outside of my neighbors house. The windows were busted through and what appeared to be blood on the window. I hurried back upstairs and then my alarm in my house went off. I called 911 and demanded they brought an offcier to the house to escort my small children and I asap. They had declined before but this was the last straw for me. At last I was reunited with Chez. I did a couple of interviews with both Fox 5 news las vegas and las vegas 13 news. We had to evacuate the neighborhood for a few hours. When we came back, Chez watched the police roll the dead body of the suspect out on a stretcher. I stayed in. I then learned that our across the street neighbor had been home with her two teenage daughters when it happened and bullets were going through her house. They spent 3 frightening hours on the kitchen floor hoping to save themselves from the gunshots. Their house is now filled with bullets and bullet holes in the walls and doors. Luckily we were one house from hers and escaped that nightmare. It was a frightening day and we are so thankful to be alive. go to las vegas 13 news and click on a video clip titled, neighbors trapped in the line of fire, to see me and Makenna interviewing. I was also on Fox 5 news as well as Chez but we cant find any online video for it.

At A Loss For Words!

Oh boy. Kids say the darndest things. It has happened before with Kingston. He once pointed out both Jesus and Santa at a Sizzler once night and another day, most embarrassing, he pointed to a heavier set woman of a different nationality and shouted, "cow moo!!". I thought that was the end of my mortifying "kids say the darndest things" with Kingston but yesterday proved otherwise. Earlier in the day Kingston had to come with me to my woman's doctor appointment because daddy was working. While there, he noticed a very pregnant lady and he was so proud to show me her baby in her tummy. That was cute. Little did I know, the cuteness a few hours later would turn into disaster. We headed to Walmart to pick up some groceries. Going down the refrigerater aisle, Kingston noticed a little girl walking with her siter, mom, and dad. He loves kids so he wanted to follow them. As I was reaching for a package of bacon, Kingston excitedly shouts to me, "mommy look, she has a baby in her tummy!" I immediately froze knowing that this little girl walking with her family was also a very obese little girl. Kingston kept happily shouting and pointing to this poor little girl's very round tummy. I slowly turned, gave the little girl an I am so sorry look, and hurried kingston into a corner where I explained to him that little girls cannot have babies in their tummies. Kingston looked very ashamed which also broke my heart because he felt so proud to have noticed a baby in someone's tummy. I was at a loss for words when it happened so I never said a word to the little girl or her family. I just hope she is okay. It was a very embarrassing moment. I later gave Kingston a hug, told him next time he thinks someone has a baby in their tummy he needs to ask me, and then I told him what a very good boy he is.

Seattle/Easter/New House

My life is FINALLY starting to settle down. After I came back from Seattle, I was able to undo my boxes and get the house looking how I like. I still have a couple more boxes to unload as well as buying a new couch, area rug, and ottoman but other than that, things are looking good. Oh, and I need to get some patio furniture. I have a balcony, front porch, and back patio, which I am super excited about so we need some good furniture out there. I will post pics of my house once I get the new couch.

Seattle was good. I went for my aunt's funeral. She finally lost her battle with cancer after 20 years. She fought to the bitter end. Her story is so compelling and only gives me hope for those who have cancer. I gave the opening prayer at the funeral (which I was so nervous about) but it turned out just fine. Funeral prayers are so much more intimidating than Sacrament meeting prayers. The rest of my trip I just hung out with my family. The weather was disgusting as usual in Seattle but we did get one semi-nice day where my cousin so graciously took pictures of my babes. She is such a good photographer.

Easter was pretty laid back here. I was still trying to settle into the house and Chez had to work that day but I still managed to pick up a few fun things for Kingston's Easter basket as well as hide a lot of Easter eggs full of money. Chez dyed eggs with Kingston just like last year and Kingston loved it. I made a nice dinner and we welcomed our second visitor since moving here, Josh. Josh is a good friend from Idaho Falls who used to work with Chez. He is hoping to work here and we have invited him to stay with us until he finds a place of his own.

Anyway, more pictures of the house to come. Next adventure in our lives is....DISNEY WORLD!!! I am so excited about that. We get to stay at the Disney World Boardwalk, which we hear is pretty cool. You can take a little boat to the theme park from the resort. It's the little things that get me excited!
