Chez's Trip

I am so happy Chez had so much fun over the weekend. He has done such a great job at being a daddy, husband, and provider, that he soooo deserved this trip. I hope he can take more fun getaways in the future because it made me so happy to see him having such a great time. On his way to the terminal today, he was in the tram with John Gruden, who is a coach and former Superbowl champ. John let Chez wear his SuperBowl Ring and took a picture. We are happy to have daddy back though. Kingston every morning would say, "mommy, daddy is at work okay". Kingston will be thrilled to see daddy today.

Weekend With My Babes

So being the good wife that I am, I happily kissed my husband goodbye this morning and wished him a ton of fun. He is going to the Broncos-Steelers game this weekend with his guy friends. I am really excited for him and I hope he has a very enjoyable time. In the meantime, it is just me and my sweet babes. We are going to be heading to church in a second. We will spend the rest of our Sunday napping, baking, and doing holiday crafts. Once the babies are asleep, it is just me and the remote! Haha. Tomorrow is Monday and I think I will probably clean the house and do some Christmas shopping with the kids. Once again, after the kids go to sleep, it is just me and the remote! And maybe a little workout. We are getting super excited for our many trips coming up in the next month!

Goodbye Halloween, Hello Thanksgiving?

We went to Jo Ann last night to get some Thanksgiving crafts and all that was there was 70% off fall and Halloween decor as well as new stuff for Christmas. I happen to think that Thanksgiving is one of the most important days to celebrate but oh well. I did get some good deals on fall stuff. I also picked up some thanksgiving cookies for Kingston and I to bake so that is good enough I guess. Moving on to Halloween. Unfortunately, daddy had to work until 8 PM so I took over. I took the kids to the Salt Lake aquarium where we met up with their cousins. They had fun Halloween activities as well as a part of the aquarium being set up like a haunted house. After the aquarium, we went and saw grandmas, uncles, and aunts, and then headed back to Ogden. I took Kingston trick or treating which he HATED but then decided he loved it once he saw all the fun decorations people had out. Once daddy came home, he took over and took Kingston trick or treating while I passed out candy. It was a good day. A few days before that, we also painted pumpkins which Kingston LOVED. We are excited for Thanksgiving, and I am especially excited for Christmas. There will be so many fun crafts Kingston will love doing for Christmas. Until then, Happy Thanksgiving!

Alas, We Have Been Vaccinated

Okay so after I typed my post yesterday about how we were not going to get the vaccination for h1n1, I called the place in Salt Lake again and all of the sudden they were passing the vaccine out so I literally threw us all in the car (me in pjs) and drove an hour to Salt Lake. After waiting in line an hour and being so close to the end where my beloved shot would be, there is an announcement, "we have 30 more doses of the injection left". I think, oh great, I drove all this way for nothing but at least Kingston can get the mist. Well, I made it through with one of the last injections. Thank heavens! So we got home and a few hours later, Kingston starts feeling really sick and I am thinking, oh great, it is my fault Kingston is going to be very sick from this vaccine. What was I thinking?! Well, I gave him a Motrin and slept in his bed with him last night and he woke up a happy boy. So all I can think is, if this very weak vaccine made him sick, what would the actual virus have done to him?! He has to get one more dose in a month and until then, he is not really immune from the virus yet. Fingers crossed we can avoid it until his last vaccine. So I am relieved but still very excited for the many upcoming distractions in my life. Pumpkin decorating, trick or treating, maybe a hayride, Thanksgiving, VEGAS, Polar Express, Christmas, hopefully Cancun.....I am excited

Trying to Find Distractions

No such luck on the H1N1 shot today. I thought I had it in the bag! There is just such a shortage of it. Either it is not meant to be for us to get one or we need to be a little more patient. Whatever the case, we are doing everything humanly possible to avoid the Swine Flu. In the meantime, I am trying to find things to distract me because I am paranoid about getting swine flu. So, we have pumpkin carving, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and most especially------Vegas! Yes it has been a good 5 months since we have been there, which is a long time for us. This time though, we are bringing the kiddos. My mom is going to fly in from Washington to help with the kids at night so we can all have fun during the day and then at night, it is off Chez and I go to have fun alone together. I am excited to go. We are still working on our December vacation. We are hoping to go to Cancun again but we will go wherever we can get cheap tickets. The vacations will be much needed and hopefully distract me from worrying so much about the Swine flu.

The H1N1 War!

There are SOME people who are afraid of the H1N1 vaccine. I happen to be someone who is afraid of the H1N1 VIRUS! I have done so much research on it and have decided to trust that it is okay and beneficial for my family. I have very bad asthma and I dont want to risk getting that horrible illness and my kids are precious and I do not want them getting sick either. So we got all geared up and ready for the shot when.....they ran all out at our health department before they even opened. There were over a thousand people waiting in line! Thinking I was screwed, I got a good tip to look up other counties where I live and what do ya know? Good ol Salt Lake is a big city and just a few miles from us and has many places to get vaccinated. So, we are headed down tomorrow to get our shots. Fingers crossed they dont run out when we get there! A fellow friend/blogger posted an article and her thoughts on this new thing that they are considering jails a priority for the shot.......WHAT? Okay so here we have pregnant women, young children/babies, asthmatics.....who are at high risk and are still waiting to receive the vaccine and they are calling jail mates a priority? A little twisted? I think so! Anyway, wish me luck tomorrow.

Pumpkin Patch/Rice Cereal

Why dont I just divide these two topics into two posts? Well, I am jus lazy! Haha actually I am just busy but I wanted to hurry and post our recent activities. We went to the pumpkin patch on Monday. It was fun. We got to pick out our pumpkins from an actual farm. Now, this is something I did every year as a kid but Chez told me he never did so I wanted to introduce him to it. We usually get our pumpkins at Walmart but since Kingston is at a fun age, I decided to start the pumpkin patch tradition this year. Again, I forgot my camera but luckily my trusty phone camera came into good use.

Also, Makenna had her first taste of baby cereal today. I say taste because she didnt seem very interested in eating it. She more liked just licking it off her hand. She had her doctor appointment yesterday and she is in the 30th percentile for weight and the 80th percentil for height. So she is tall and skinny like Kingston.
