Finally

Okay so this whole moving states thing has not been easy. When we moved to Ogden from Idaho Last year it was easy because we were only moving a couple of hours away. This time we were moving 7 hours away. We have gone non stop for the past month celebrating birthdays, anniversaries, looking for a suitable house for our little family, dealing with a death in the family, and traveling. It has been exhausting to say the least. My poor kids have endured this long road. Children thrive off of a routine and the only thing I could keep regular was our morning donut run to Dunkin Donuts and our evening play time at the park. Their naps have been off, they havent had regular meal times, and their bed times have been crazy. We moved into a house that was definitely not ready for us to move into with the carpets being filthy and finding nails, pins, and screws in it. The house was super dirty, blinds missing, broken faucets, no house keys, garage remotes, gate remotes, dead light bulbs, no lights at all in any rooms except for the bathrooms and kitchen, and to top it off, a very busy road behind the house. It was a nightmare and I was not happy. I didnt feel like I could let Makenna play on the floor for fear she would choke on a screw, I couldnt use the kichen sink, we were not sleeping well with all the noise, etc....Maybe I sound ungrateful but we knew we could find so mny other houses out there within our price range that were not this bad off. So, we finally told our new landlord that the house was clearly not ready for us or any tenant for that matter and we would like to move. Thankfully, she let us out and only kept March's rent. We/I, looked so so hard to find a better house in our price range. I met with our realtor by myself with the kids a few times to look through houses I had seen on Craig's List while Chez worked. The day we were just going to decide to stay where we were, I decided to hurry and take a quick look at this one I had seen but did not take seriously because of the square footage. Well, the second we walked in, I knew I was in my house! It was spotless, almost brand new, awesome kitchen, awesome backyard, balcony in the master bedroom, nice sized rooms for the kids, and most importantly, VERY nice area of Vegas. So I am so excited and Chez loved the house as well. I unfortunately had to fly to Seattle for a funeral the day we moved in so I wasnt much help to Chez besides taking the kids. He was able to move pretty quickly and now he is in our new home waiting for me to come home and make it ours. I am so grateful I get to bring my kids home to a house that is clean, safe, and comfortable for them. It has been such a long and trying month and we are so glad life is starting to settle down again.
