A "Crappy" Situation

Makenna was awfully quiet as I did my hair and put my make-up on. Normally she cries if she isnt being held. So, I go in when I am done to pick her up and to my unwanted surprise, I find my hand dripping with poo. Those of you who have kids/babies, have had similar experiences and you know what I am talking about. Those of you who do not have kids, I have posted a picture of the scene for you!

Ears

Kingston had surgery a few days ago to put tubes in his ears. He was having infection after infection and never a happy kid. Always waking up at night to sleep with mommy and daddy and crying a lot. Well, since the surgery, he has been in a little pain but he has been sleeping all night in his bed which is a big thing! The actual surgery was quite simple. The anesthesiologist wheeled him off in a fun little red wagon. At this point, Chez and I could only wait in the waiting area. The nurse said the doctor put the gas mask on Kingston's face and he was laughing hard trying to pop the bag under the mask and then, PLUNK, he went from laughing to completely out. They all got a good laugh out of it I guess. The surgery took a max of 5 minutes. He was a bit grumpy to say the last in the recovery room but he is doing so great now. It was a much needed procedure. Moving on to Makenna....She is a great sleeper at night but she has rough days. She cries and screams a lot and throws up a good amount. She had been gasping for air a lot and coughing so I took her to the doctor. He said she has reflux and gave us an antacid. That is working well with her. She is happier during the day and still sleeping through most of the night.

Car Drama

So Chez put my car in the paper a couple weeks after he sold his and bought his new one. We thought since my car was so unique, it wouldn't sell fast. WRONG! It sold the day after we put it up for sale. So, we were scrambling to find me a car because it is hard to live with one vehicle and two kids (at least for us since we are used to two cars). Well after weeks of car hunting, we finally found one that is realisitic for us right now. We looked at everything. We found this Mercury Mariner a couple weeks ago that we just kept in the back of our minds in case we couldnt find anything else (since we did just have a Mariner and wanted to try something else) and that is the one we ended up with. It is an 08' which is 3 years newer than my old one with leather which is perfect when you have kids and spills of all sorts. The one thing I wanted was 4 wheel drive for the snow and it has that too. So, as boring as this post is, I wanted to post it so that 20 years down the road I can look back at the different cars we had and think how different they were those 20 years ago!

Blessing Day, Wolf Creek, and Boating

This past weekend was really fun. We got all the immediate Jones family together and spent the weekend at Wolf Creek. The condos we stayed at were AMAZING! We spent a lot of time swimming, eating, and playing games. On Sunday was Makenna's baby blessing. She looked so adorable in her outfit. The blessing was very special but unfortunately she cried the whole time. Her personality these days is very particular. She may come off as grumpy to some people, but she is just a little princess! ;) After the blessing we headed back up to Wolf Creek and spent the entire day swimming at the lake, boating, and riding wave runners. It was a blast. Makenna loved the boat. She slept very soundly the entire time we were on it. Grandma also let me have a turn on the wave runner and watched Makenna for a little while for me. We came home today and the kids napped while I unpacked and cleaned the house. These days, any free second I have while the babes are asleep, I spend cleaning house. It may sound lame but I enjoy it. After the naps, we went to Kingston's pre-op for his ear surgery on Wednesday. Poor kid cant fight these darn ear infections so he is finally getting tubes. Fingers crossed that they work! SO wish us luck on Wednesday for his surgery.

Just a few more words I thought of today that Kingston says funny!
I just posted random pictures of Kingston that are totally unrelated to this post but I thought they were cute. Kingston loves to make a train out of his toys and he loves the four wheeler.

Kingston's Vocabulary

Kingston is learning so much and pretty much knows how to talk now. However, a lot of the words he says, only I understand. He is a little confused about how to say certain words. Here are a few words he says wrong but I think are funny:

Greem = green
kingkow = fingernail
kingkow burpers = fingernail clippers
onty onty = humpty dumpty
shisher = sister
choshik mulk = chocolate milk
sik it = fix it
din din = kingston
feethert = sweetheart
eseegoon = lagoon( the theme park)
pwane = plane

These are just a few of the words he says wrong. It's really kinda cute when you hear him say them.

Makenna 4th of July

4th of July

For some reason chez and I didnt take any pictures on our camera. All the pictures are on grandma's camera but I do have a picture of Makenna's outfit and a few other cute summer pics. On the 4th we stayed with Chez's parents in Idaho Falls and went to the parade. That was a crazy experience. Kingston had a double ear infection which caused him to be super grumpy during it. These two kids right next to us got shot. What we all thought was a firework that went off was actually a gun shot that sent one kid off on a stretcher with a mangled and bloody foot. It was scary. I was just grateful it hadnt hit any of us. After the parade it was nap time! We went to the river that evening to watch the fireworks. I LOVE the Idaho Falls display. This year was so awesome. Kingston fell asleep in the middle of it somehow and Makenna slept through the whole thing thankfully. The next day friends and family came over to celebrate my birthday a few days early. Chez got me the coolest phone ever (at least I thought so!) It is called the Lotus and it is a pretty red color. On Monday after making our rounds to all our tenants in our houses, we headed back to Utah where we gave our car, or rather sold it to a nice family in Logan. Now we just need to find me a car asap! A family of four, two being in car seats, dont fit well in a small Audi!

Family Photos Continued...

Family Photos

Now that we have a newborn, it was time to change the family photos on our wall from just the three of us to the four of us. I must say, I love these pictures. Probably the best we have done so far which is saying a lot since I still have 11 pounds of baby weight to lose!
