My Last Post for Two Weeks!!

WOW!!! SO much has happened this week that it is unbelievable! I thought my colonoscopy was hard enough to deal with but the news I am about to share, takes the cake. Yesterday, Chez and his co-workers along with employees from other nearby offices, were called in to a meeting. We knew last week that the company was going to lay off 4,000 workers, but we had no idea our office would be included in that. The meeting was to announce that the sales offices in Idaho will be shutting down at the end of the week! What scary news! So, I found out at 3PM that Chez no longer had a job. I was so nervous about what the future was to hold for us. Well, about 6 PM, Chez had two different job offers in another state through the same company, just at different offices that are staying open. Whew! What a relief that was to hear. We are not sure which office we want to move to. There is so much to think about. We have a few obligations here that will make the move a little hairy, but we will figure it out. Just when you think life is so perfect and you have a wonderful house, family, and life set up, you get a curve ball thrown at you. It will be a huge change for us but I am up for it and I will take everything that comes my way and swallow my pride. The good news is that with all of this stress all at once, we will be headed to a warm tropical place this weekend for two weeks where we can forget our problems for the time being. I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas!

Colonoscopy

So today I had a colonoscopy done which is a very routine procedure. However, I am pregnant so that scared me a lot. All last week after hearing that I needed it done, I was a basket case. I told every nurse at the surgical center and reminded my doctor before the procedure, that I was pregnant. Everyone assured me that the baby would be fine but to be safe, they didn't give me as much anesthesia as normal. Therefore, I felt the whole thing but I was still a little drugged up so it wasn't too awful. Just not pleasant. It was worth it for me though to have the least amount of medication enter my baby as possible. When I came home, grandma graciously came to pick up Kingston so I could run over to my OB and hear my baby's heartbeat as a little reassurance. The baby's heartbeat was strong and he/she was moving around all over. I feel sooooo much better now that it is all over with. What a week!

Timber!

On Monday when I was putting the last of the Christmas ornaments on the tree, all of the sudden, our enormous tree feel forward leaving a bunch of shattered ornaments all over our living room. At first I was sad and then I couldn't stop laughing. It was so funny. Well, Chez found a way to keep the tree steady again and so far it has not fallen again since. I posted a picture of when it fell and now when it is happy again, along with some other decorations I have around the house.

The Christmas Season is Upon Us!

I am so excited for the Christmas season. I have held out decorating until the day after Thanksgiving. It was hard since Thanksgiving was so late this year but I managed to wait. Now that the house is decorated, we are going to pick up our fresh cut Chrstmas tree today and our house will be complete. This time of year always brings back so many memories of the past years. Last year Kingston was only 9 months old but he had so much fun opening his gifts. This will also be our third year going to Cancun and we are so excited. I posted some Christmas pics of King last year in Cancun with my mom and Chez and I as well as Christmas morning, but when we get our tree all up and decorated, I will post some new Christmas pictures for this year.

Holiday High

Thanksgiving is next week and I am looking forward to it. Thankfully my morning sickness has not been all the bad the past few days so my fingers are crossed that I will be feeling okay Thanksgiving day. I am spending my very first Thanksgiving ever with Chez and his family. In all our years of even dating, I have always gone to Seattle for this particular holiday. I am excited to experience Thanksgiving with the Jones's. I am also very excited for the Christmas holiday. Every year Chez and I bake up a ton of Christmas cookies to deliver to our neighbors. We like to build gingerbread houses, decorate the house like CRAZY, and we absolutely love to set up our tree. This year will be extra special because Kingston will be old enough to understand a little more of what is going on. We haven't decided if we want to do our Christmas before our after our Cancun trip which is the 21st-31st. But whatever the case is, Chez and I finished all our shopping for Kingston yesterday. He is going to be thrilled! He still mostly has little baby toys that he plays with and hardly any big kid toys. After going to friend's houses who have tons of cool toys that Kingston adores, we decided to spoil Kingston this Christmas. I posted the pictures of his toys. The kitchen set was so hard to find. We bought one at Toys R Us that ended up having bad reviews so after much research, we found the coolest one ever at Sam's Club that was so much cheaper than the same style at Toys R Us only this one we bought comes with a table and chairs. I am so excited for Christmas and so happy to have a wonderful family to share the holidays with!

Another Bundle of Joy

The past couple of weeks have been crazy and adding morning sickness to that, makes it worse. Seattle was okay. The whole purpose was for my grandma's funeral which made it a very different and kind of sad. It is always a joy to see my family though. Friday I flew straight from Seattle to Boise, where I then drove to Idaho Falls, packed Kingston's weekend suticase, dropped him off with grandma and grandpa then caught another plane to Vegas from Idaho Falls. That day was nuts! Once I got to Vegas I was able to relax and enjoy my weekend. Saturday I watched Chez play tennis and hung out with his team members. Sunday we hung out with some friends who live in Vegas and played some table games while watching Sunday night football. Monday our flight wasn't until 3PM so we played "Let It Ride", a table game, while we killed some time before going to the airport. What do ya know?? I get a 4 of a kind and pocket a very decent chunk of change before flying home. Once we finally got home and were greeted by Kingston, who was very happy to see us :), we crashed until morning where we went to the doctor to get our very first ultrasound of our little peanut! It was so awesome to see and hear the heartbeat of our little baby. I am due June 21st. We are so excited to finally give Kingston a little brother or sister!

Gone Private

Lately I have been getting some comments from people I don't know or comments that I never got to read that were deleted. For confidentiality and safety of my family, I decided to make our blog private. I am only allowing friends and family to view our blog through invitation only. I am not really "blogger" smart, so if any of you notice that it has not gone private, please let me know so I can fix that.

Visitors of this blog

Last week my brother and sister-in-law posted on their blog that it is only fair if you can look at their blog, that you must leave them access to look at your blog. The same is true for me. As much as I appreciate nice comments, I would love to be able to see who exactly it is from and what their blog looks like. It really is only fair. Thank you.

Sweet and Sour

This past week has been mostly sour but semi-sweet. I have had a couple passings happen. One funeral was really sad but because of my faith, I know this person is in a better place. The other, my grandma, passed just today. Her funeral will be next week where I will fly to Seattle. I know that she too, is now in a better place with her husband who passed almost a decade ago. On a much lighter note, I booked our Cancun flights, took Kingston to Boo at the Zoo with Grandma Jones today, and I am going to Vegas with my husband soon. I must say, it has been a trying week, but it is important to always try and see the good in things. These are pictures from Boo at the Zoo. I also posted a picture from Cancun!

Viva Las Vegas....Again!

Okay so by now you are all probably thinking that Chez and I are addicted to Vegas or gambling because it seems like we go so often. There are a few reasons for that! First, you just can't beat the Allegiant Air ticket prices out of Idaho Falls. I just paid $130 roundtrip out of Idaho Falls to Las Vegas. That is unreal. Second, Chez and I have been going there together since I very first met his family and we watched his younger brother, Garrett, play soccer there. Plus, we have made a few of our own memories there. Third, the weather is gorgeous which makes for a really nice and relaxing weekend getaway. Fourth, we have the most perfect babysitters for Kingston back at home that we feel so blessed and happy to leave him with them (grandma and grandpa Jones)for a couple days while we enjoy eachother's company. And this time around, fifth, and most importantly....Chez did so well in his tennis league that they made it to Vegas for the finals. I will be watching him play all weekend which makes me happy because it makes him happy. There will be time for us to have fun and enjoy the town after his games of course, but this specific visit is because my husband is such a great tennis player!

Back from Seattle

Kingston and I went to Seattle all last week while Chez went on a business trip to Denver, then to Boise for a tennis tournament. Kingston and I had so much fun. I got to meet my new niece and nephew. They are soooo cute. My niece is so tiny. She is 6 pounds. I also got to meet my brother's wife for the first time. We had a baby shower for her. She is pregnant with a boy and due in December. I also got to meet my other brother's girlfriend of many years for the first time as well. It was such a busy trip.
While I was there, my grandma had another heart attack (she had one back in July too). She was in the hospital in Bellevue, but man was her hospital room glamorous! I have never seen a more fancy hospital in all my life. Aside from that, my grandma looked pretty sick. It made me very sad. All the family is pulling for her and we hope she gets well soon.
On a lighter note, Kingston had the time of his life. He got to play with all of his cousins and they all got along so well. They decorated Halloween cookies while they were all wearing matching Halloween shirts, they played at the most amazing and enormous playground I have ever seen, and they just hung around together like they were all best friends. Kingston adored the babies. He was so gentle around them and patting them if they cried. He was loving the babies. Kingston also got a haircut at the cutest salon for kids. They get to sit on toy cars and watch cartoons while their hair gets cut.
I also had some fun of my own. I did a lot of shopping. I finally gave in and bought myself a pair of leggings and they are incredibly comfortable! I also was able to take my 9 year old niece out shopping. I bought her so many cute outfits and she had a blast. After, we went to dinner and I let her order anything she wanted. My mom and I would go out to dinner every night after she got off work then we would come home and be greeted by my sister-in-law who came over every night to do laundry. That gave me plenty of time to cuddle with her new 1 month old son. So all in all, we had a blast.

New bed, new suit, new Steeler's jersey, and a new sandbox!

Kingston has had a lot of spoiling lately. He is the only child and I have to admit that I spoil him A LOT! There are good reasons for all of it though ;). For example, a couple weeks ago, I found Kingston downstairs playing the the kitty litter box! Gross!! I then found him in the litter box every day until I decided I was sick of sanitizing his entire body to kill all of the nasty kitty waste germs. It was getting old. Chez and I decided to buy Kingston a sandbox of his own to play in. It is a little messy in the basement with all of the sand, but since the basement is not finished, we decided it's okay.

Next on the list is his new Steeler's Jersey. It is so cute on him and Chez is so proud of it. Kingston and I have matching ones. Since he is getting so tall, he is quickly growing out of his summer church clothes, so I went and got him the cutest little suit. He is only 18 months old but he wears a 2T-3T depending on the brand!

Lastly, and most importantly, we got him his very first big boy bunk bed. We were not going to get a bunk bed but when he saw it at the furniture store, he loved it. He laid in it and climbed the ladder over and over. I figure with the shape of it, he wont have any problems falling off of this bed. I had so much fun picking out his bedding. I put him in it tonight until he had enough of it then I put him in his crib. We are slowly going to get him used to it until he sleeps the whole night in it then we will just put a baby gate up in his doorway.

Mommy's Little Angel/ Devil

From time to time I catch I stumble across funny picture moments with Kingston. He will do something that looks so wrong that I have to take a photo. A few months ago I caught him sucking on a white pen that looked like a cigarette. Today I caught him drinking out of a Rottbeer bottle that looked like beer. So here goes. Enjoy!

Random Pictures

I was going through my recent pictures and found a bunch of Kingston that I thought were really cute. The pictures are of him figuring out his big boy potty, playing on the piano, a really funny one of him with a towel over his water wings(he looked like ET!) and of him playing on the quarter toys. I always say this, but he is just getting so big. He is not my little baby anymore! Pretty soon he will be in his own big boy bed and getting up in the morning without my help. Oh how the time flies!

The Fair

My mom was in town last week so we decided to take Kingston to the fair. This would be his very first trip to the fair ever. I wasn't sure if he would be allowed to ride any rides, but they let him if I was wtih him. It was so fun for me to see the enjoyment he was having. We rode on the carrosel, some flying elephants, and flying cars. He also got to pet the baby goats which he really liked. So, his first trip to the fair was a successful one.

Family Photos

Ever since Kingston was born we have been going to JC Penny to get our family photos taken. Honestly, they do a really good job and they are very inexpensive so for now we will keep going there. But if anyone has any good recomendations on photographers in town, I would love to hear about them. For now, these are some of the pictures we had taken. Kingston did such a good job and the photographer really knew how to make him laugh.
