Vegas

Our trip to Vegas was really fun. We flew out really early on Sunday morning so since we didn't have Kingston the night before, we decided to go to a Jazz game. I always love going to NBA games. That was super fun and we ran into Orin Hatch who we got a picture with. That picture is on Chez's phone so I will upload it when I can. This Vegas trip was so different. I loved it because I was able to meet all of Chez's co-workers at his new office and we hung out with them the majority of the time. The first day, we had lunch at the pool and hung out at the lazy river and tanned. That night we all went to dinner at Planet Hollywood and that night Chez went night golfing while I accidentally fell asleep for the night in our condo waiting for him to finish. It is the pregnancy that just wipes me out! The next day which was Monday, we had a breakfast and awards ceremony for everyone which was neat. Chez won the award for best Poker Face because nobody can ever get him to look or act mad! They make fun of him for it. Later that day we went to the strip with some other people and then we all met up the the Excalibur for the tournament of Kings dinner show. That night we played some casino games with Chez's co-workers then went back to the resort to pack and sleep. We flew out Tuesday morning. I dont have mnay pictures right now because we didnt take our camera but others got pictures for us. I did take a couple on my phone though of the limo we took to the dinner show and some things around the strip we did for a scavenger hunt so they are pretty random.

Kids Say the Darndest Things

I never truly understood that until today. As we were strolling through Walmart, a rather large black woman with very little hair on her head in a motorized cart, drove by us in the soda pop aisle. Kingston quickly pointed at her and said, "cow!" then went, "moo moo moo". The first words that came out of my mouth were, "no no Kingston", in a very disappointed sounding tone. Of course, he didnt know any better. He is two and barely learning how to say a lot of things and gets excited when he sees things he knows how to say. I on the other hand felt so bad and I wanted to cry for that lady. She sped off in her cart so I couldn't apologize but it was a very mortifying moment needless to say. On a much lighter and funny note, we went to Sizzler the other night and Kingston saw two men. One of the men had a red shirt and long white beard to which Kingston pointed and said,"Santa". He did kinda look like Santa. The other man was at the salad bar next to our table and he had long brown hair. Kingston pointed at him and shouted, "Jesus!". Haha, those were actually funny to us. Kids do say the darndest things.

Trains!

Since living in Utah, we find that there is so much more to do with Kingston. There are museums everywhere that are fun for kids, parks, exhibits, zoo's.....So, it is becoming a tradition for us to take him somewhere new every week. Anyway, Kingston loved the trains. He loves making trains out of everything. He will line his toy cars all up and clap while yelling, "train train". He loved that we could actually go inside the trains at the train station so he just had a blast. As you can tell by the pictures with me in it, pregnancy is not agreeing with my weight! I am a bit puffy these days ;)

Potty Training!

Holy cow I am jumping up and down inside with excitement. For Easter, grandma got Kingston some big boy underwear and Chez and I got him a potty book to go with it. Inside the potty book shows a kid using the exact same potty that Kingston has so he was pretty turned on to that. We decided to start training Kingston how to go poop and pee in his big boy potty. I had been kinda slacking at it and all I was doing was reading him the potty book and reminding him to go poop in the big boy potty. He had been telling me every time he had to go and would sit on his potty but never go. Well, this morning after Chez headed off to work, I dozed off on the couch and was awaken by Kingston saying, "Mommy Kingston poop", while he was pulling me to the bathroom. To my GREAT surprise, I found he had pooped in his potty all by himself! I am stoked. I never would have thought one of the biggest highlights of my life would be that my son pooped in the potty! I would post a picture of it but I figured that would be kinda gross ;)

Update On Baby

I had another ultrasound today. I am 30 weeks and 4 days but still measuring two weeks ahead of that. Here is a whopper-she is already a little over 4 pounds! Crazy. The doctor says the average baby at 30 weeks is 3 pounds so we will see what happens in the next few weeks!

The Zoo

On Monday we decided to take Kingston to the Hogle Zoo in Salt Lake. I had never been there and heard they had a lot of animals. So, we met up with my sister-in-law and her kids and we had quite the day! Kingston hadn't seen his cousin in a while and it was the cutest little reunion when they saw each other for the first time. They ran up and gave each other big hugs. It brought a tear to my eye and again, reminding me of how important family is. We spent a good 3 hours at the zoo and the kids were in heaven. They were so tired and hungry that we thought we would all go to Mc Donald's where they could eat and play on the toys. By the time the day of fun ended, these boys were spent! Poor Kingston didn't get much of a nap yesterday and was a bit grumpy the rest of the day but to see him have so much fun made it all so worth it.

Easter

Easter was a great day. It was Kingston's 3rd Easter but the first year he was able to have some fun. We started out by going to our new ward for the first time. I was surprised at what a tiny ward it was. They had just split it and there was literally 10-15 of us max in relief society. I like that though because my other ward was so big that it was easy to slink in and out of class without anyone really noticing you were there. After church we let Kingston open his Cars Easter basket that was filled with chocolate kisses, Cars big boy underwear, a fun potty training book, and a train book because he loves trains. I hid plastic eggs filled with coins in the backyard and he had a blast finding them. He loves putting money in his piggy too so that just added to the fun of it all. We then decorated some eggs and Kingston also loved doing that. I baked up some Easter cookies and we decorated those. Kingston ate so many cookies. He probably had one of the best days ever. He was loving it. I cooked an Easter dinner that evening of chicken cordon bleu in the crock pot with salad, croissant rolls, rice, and mashed potatoes. It was a nice day and the weather was beautiful.

I Need a Time Out!

First off, my mom came this past week from Washington to visit and that was really fun. She watched Kingston the first two days while Chez and I drove to Vegas to celebrate our 3rd anniversary. When we came back, we hung out with my mom everyday. Kingston loves grandma, or as he says it, "papa". We went swimming everyday, went out to dinner, shopped, and took Kingston around to pet stores and playgrounds. The mall here has a really neat indoor playground for smaller kids. Kingston loves it. Grandma left this morning which was sad but we are going to get ready for Easter tomorrow. We are just going to have a little easter hunt for Kingston, decorate eggs, and have a little easter basket with candy, some toys, and easter books teaching about the true meaning of Easter. Moving on to the meaning of my title of this post. Well this year or shall I say this pregnancy has been FULL of traveling. I never traveled this much while pregnant with Kingston. It is becoming quite exhausting mentally and physically. I have enjoyed the places we have gone with and without Kingston. We have had a lot of fun memories built up the past few months. Also bad trips traveling for funerals. I have to admit now though, that I am WORN OUT! I like being able to leave Kingston with grandma and grandpa for short trips every once in a while but it still makes me sad and I always get emotional when I see him again. He seems to enjoy the time he spends with his grandparents though which is great. Right before we left to Vegas last weekend, we found out Chez's work was going to pay for his whole office to go to Vegas at the end of April. We thought, no problem, we will take Kingston and he will have fun swimming and seeing the different attractions. We found out last night however, that this trip is for adults because we are going to be going to different shows and dinners and that we should leave Kingston behind :( So here I am thinking how much I dont want to leave Kingston behind again. We are so lucky to have wonderful parents who are always so willing to watch Kingston for us but I really feel like a time out from vacations for a while is in order. I will enjoy going to Vegas of course with my husband and his co-workers but I will be soooooo happy to come home and take it easy for a while and enjoy my last few weeks with Kingston as my only child. Vacations are so fun and I truly believe they are necessary to build memories with your families but sometimes too many vacations can wear on you!

Bye Bye "D"

Kingston has been addicted to his binkie since day 1 and he is now 2 years old. He calls his binkie "D" because a long time ago when I called it bink, he thought I said D. Anyway, while Chez and I were in Vegas the past weekend, my mom was babysitting Kingston for us. She told me this story about how Kingston decided to throw his "D" in the garbage because he didn't want it anymore. Knowing how addicted my son is to that thing, I can't see him doing such a thing. Whatever the case may be, he is now free from his "D" and no longer sucks on it. He has asked for it once or twice the past couple days but I just tell him it went bye bye. The strange thing is, I think I am more broken up about it being gone than him. I guess it is because this now means that he really is growing up and turning into a little boy instead of my little baby. Oh how the time flies by. He will be such a good big brother to his little sister though and I will be anle to cherish all the fun baby memories with her as I did with Kingston when he was my little baby.

Baby Girl

I went to my first appointment today with my new doctor in Utah and I LOVE HIM! He is awesome. I get an ultrasound now every two weeks and that makes me so happy. Today my little girl measured 2 weeks ahead of schedule at 30 weeks instead of 28 weeks and the doctor says she will easily be an 8 pound baby. So, he says he will induce me a little early if she gets too big. My confusion is this-most of you know that I am this short and small runt of a girl so how is it that I make such big babies?! It is funny to me but also makes me happy that my kids are healthy. Anyway, I am sooo excited about my new doctor and being able to see my little girl every two weeks. These pictures are of me at 28 weeks. My belly button popped out this time around and it never did with Kingston.
